Our History

Established in 1985, Charleston Building Services, LLC. is an award-winning general contracting and consulting firm. We specialize in HUD low-income housing, the Re-origination Maintenance program, investment properties, an nonprofit, and retail facilities.

Our story began with a team of one (Anthony Charleston) and grew to a team of one hundred employees. Our first project was the remolding of the Ramada Hotel on Capital Ave, Atlanta, GA for the 1996 Olympic games.

In 1998 the company moved it’s headquarters to Gurnee, IL. This is where the relationship started and flourished with various Housing Authorities, including Lake County Housing Authority, Waukegan Housing Authority, Cook County, and North Chicago Housing Authority.

Our Beliefs

We believe that construction and maintenance is not just a brick-and-mortar and screws and nails; it is a bond and foresight to solve and eliminate our precious customer seen and unseen problems. Our vision is to develop leaders that build quality projects.

The most important thing we have learned is that the construction business is about serving people and meeting their construction needs in a safe, cost-efficient, and timely manner. We believe that the better we serve our clients, the better we will serve our community as mentors, educators, and financial contributors!
